day one treatment

day one treatment ....................
Day one, was started with a chemo solution , the nurse who fitted my shunt, was trying to play the bango with my tendons, till she finally found the right vein. Then on to the radaition part, strapped to the table I couldn't move, as they took xray after xray. Can't breath deep or swallow deep, I seemed to be in this position for half an hour, which seemed like a lifetime. I was starting to have an anxiety attack when they finally let me up. I then found that I could not see, my vision was like looking through a kaleidoscope. So my wife had to drive home. Little did I know that this was just the start of the fun times. At about 2 am I awoke with a terrible belly ache, and started to dry heave , for more than 5 hours I was in the bathroom heaving up nothing. Shivering uncontrolable, I was left standing in a pool of my sweat. I was wondering how I could make it through 35 sessions , when I could barely make it through the first night. Fortunately the nurse the next day was on the ball and gave me a bunch of anti nausea med's, so the second night was much better, and I was left with the feeling that I may actually be able to get through this mess..
As an after thought, I figured that any of my friends who still smoke cig's should spend a day with me at my sessions, then decide if they still want to smoke.
